Minerva Record W 566 – Austrian Tube Radio from 1955

The Minerva Record W 566 is an Austrian valve table radio from the mid-1950s. It was manufactured by Minerva-Radio, Radiola-Radioapparate und Bestandteile W. Wohleber & Co. in Vienna, Austria. Radiomuseum.org lists the model as Record W 566 with EM80 and six push buttons, dating it to 1955.
The set belongs to the generation of larger post-war domestic receivers that combined the traditional AM wavebands with FM/UKW reception. With its polished wooden cabinet, large front dial, six push buttons and three loudspeakers, the Record W 566 was intended as a well-equipped living-room radio rather than a small utility receiver.
The valve line-up is typical for a better Austrian FM receiver of this period: ECC85, ECH81, EF89, EABC80, EM80, EL84 and EZ80. The radio is a superheterodyne receiver with six AM tuned circuits and nine FM tuned circuits.
Condition
This Minerva Record W 566 is preserved in unrestored condition, exactly as acquired. No electrical or cosmetic restoration has yet been carried out.
