METEOR LRPT Reception Archive

MeteorGIS Era — 2020–2024

Between 2020 and 2024, the OE6VAG station received digital weather images from the Russian METEOR-M weather satellites on the 137 MHz band.

The images in this archive were received locally via radio and processed with MeteorGIS.

They document an earlier generation of the OE6VAG weather-satellite project, before the current autonomous SatDump-based METEOR-M2-4 station.

METEOR-M2

METEOR-M2 provided LRPT weather imagery for many years and was used extensively for the early OE6VAG satellite reception experiments.

The images below are selected examples from the historical MeteorGIS archive.

METEOR-M2-3

METEOR-M2-3 continued the LRPT service and provided further weather-satellite reception opportunities from 2023 onward.

The following images are selected locally received examples processed with MeteorGIS.

From MeteorGIS to the Current Station

The images above belong to the historical MeteorGIS receiving system.

Today, OE6VAG receives METEOR-M2-4 with an autonomous Linux-based station using SatDump for recording, decoding, image processing and web publication.
